LG Denies Reports About Cutting Jobs
Today, telecommunications leader LG has hotly denied that it has already cut staff from its overseas mobile phone operations headquarters. Last Friday, rumors began surfacing via the Korean Economic Daily that LG had cut nearly 30% of the workers from the cell phone portion of its business. Since this report was cited by Reuters, LG had originally refused to comment. As of now, the company claims that the original report was without base. “We are always looking at opportunities to improve the performance of our mobile business but no decision has been made as to any job reductions,” claimed an unnamed LG spokesperson. Supporting details about the rumor is currently unavailable, although there have been many hints as of lately which point towards LG struggling to keep its overseas cell phone operations profitable. Goldie Group will release more information as it becomes available.
