A new and improved, 64 GB, microSDXC phone card has been unveiled by SanDisk. Combining Class 6 performance with transfer speeds up to 30 Mbps, this chip dramatically improves the read/write speeds of High Definition video.

Identical in size and shape to current microSD cards, the new phone card is designed to fit into any existing microSD slot. However, most current phones only support 32 GB cards, so the targeted device must support microSDXC compatibility to fully utilize the 64 GB features of the new card.

Bruce Goldie of the Goldie Group indicated that, for the time being, the new card will only ship from the manufacturer at a retail price of $219.99. Retailers will not start to see deliveries for several more months.
